Job Description

As a 2D Game Artist at Misfits Gaming Group, you'll be a pivotal member of our development team, contributing to creating exceptional gaming experiences. You’ll join a formative game team building innovative games from concept through launch and beyond. You will work alongside fellow developers to support our games' look and style by creating concept art for characters, props, and environment art. Help us build beautiful new worlds and experiences that fulfill our mission!


  • Design and create high-quality concepts for props, characters, effects, and environment art
  • Create concepts ranging from mood pieces, quick sketches, or turnarounds to finished concepts
  • Strong grasp of color theory, composition, and anatomy
  • Collaborate with the design, programming, production, and art teams to create and implement assets and environments that enhance the game experience.
  • Offer feedback or drawovers to teammates to improve models or other assets.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of current industry trends and best practices to stay at the forefront of game development.
  • May be called upon for UI Art support
  • Other Game Development Duties as Assigned


  • Proficiency in working across a variety of stylized art styles
  • At least 3 years of experience working as a 2D artist
  • A strong portfolio of work showcasing environment, character, and prop concept pieces
  • Hungry for feedback, provide effective critiques for others, and drive to make beautiful art

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Fine Art, Digital Art, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience
  • Understanding of 3D and game art
  • Experience developing games

This is currently a full-time remote position. Must be able to relocate to either Seattle, WA, or Boca Raton, FL, in Q4 2024.
