At this stage of your career, you will be building your expertise and honing your skills under guidance, playing a vital role in contributing to the visual style of our projects. Your creativity and technical knowledge will be crucial in working with both internal teams and potential external collaborators.

As a Campaign Environment Artist, you will:

  • Work closely with Lead Artists and Art Directors to understand and contribute to the game's overall visual style.
  • Collaborate with the Level team and take ownership of environment chunks within.
  • Assist in refining assets using industry-standard software and import them into Unreal Engine.
  • Help create documentation, such as style guides and technical specifications, to ensure consistent communication across the team.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to refine designs and techniques.
  • Support senior artists, learning from their feedback and guidance.


To be considered for this role, we require the following:

  • Experience working with 3D environment art for PC/console title(s).
  • Familiarity with tools such as Unreal Engine, Maya, Max, Substance, etc.
  • Understanding of PBR (Physically Based Rendering) workflows and ability to apply them to create realistic textures and materials.
  • A portfolio that demonstrates a(n):
  • Understanding of composition, mood, and lighting.
  • Keen eye for detail and grasp of perspective and [anatomy/world-dressing].
  • Good communication skills and willingness to learn from feedback.

Preference will be given to candidates who have:

  • Experience or interest in working on third-person action-adventure games or similar genres.


It'll be a bonus if you also have:

  • Degree or certifications related to environment art.


The pay range for this role includes the annual base salary, not including bonus and the generous benefits package that Crystal Dynamics provides all full-time employees. Individual compensation is determined by work location within our approved states or regions, as well as additional factors, including job related skills, experience, and relevant education.
